Technical SEO Indexability Check
Search visibility loss often comes from conflicting small signals rather than one giant mistake. This checklist keeps canonical, robots, and sitemap signals aligned.
1. Canonical and index signals
- Use self-canonical on pages you want indexed.
- Do not keep noindex pages inside sitemap files.
- Ensure canonical URLs and hreflang targets do not conflict.
2. Robots and crawl budget
Blocking non-essential helper pages in robots.txt (such as offline fallbacks) keeps crawl budget cleaner. But avoid disallowing your main content pages by accident.
For conflict analysis, use Robots/Meta Conflict Analyzer.
3. Sitemap validation
- Sitemaps should include only canonical pages returning 200.
- Keep sitemap index and child sitemap structure consistent.
- Manually validate sample URLs after deployment.
For broader technical checks, pair it with Offline Website Analyzer.
